I think you may be wrong. I think Andy's job is to report and not color. Sure you can get a Hurd type, but from an accounting standpoint, it is much better to understate and over achieve. Hurd's bonus is what in his technical abilities at HP. I think what is troublesome are major real issues. Maybe Barrett's two million stock options. Maybe the decision to put David Pottruck on the board and as part of the Compensation committee. Maybe Barrett's bad decision on some technical issues like Pentium. Maybe Barrett's emphasis on hiring an extra 20 THOUSAND people. The massive building program. These are issues. Andy does his job. Don't fuck with a guy who does his job. And as for projections. The numbers are given to him. He is the messenger. Well, more, but you get the idea.
