The Russians and the Chinese, not the Americans or the Europeans, are the ones holding the key. The West, as always, is not quick to understand their motives and goals. The various UN missions have not yet received directives from home as to how to respond when and if the Iranian ball lands in the New York court.

I don't understand what people expect the Russians, Chinese and Indians to do. I do not think the Russians and Chinese are particularly concerned about what upsets the West nor do I think they feel particularly threatened by an Iran with nukes. Having said that, both have more economic interaction with the West than in the past, but neither are particularly dependent on that trade. As for India, she seems to be more and more throwing her fortunes in with Russia and China.
