Management admitted market share loss on the call. I think that AMD's competitiveness has surprised them. I think the ASP decline was mostly anticipated.

From that backdrop the margin guidance for the full year (below the Street by a couple of percentage points) is telling. It tells me that Intel might be a bit more aggressive in pricing their products to avoid any further market share losses.

Maybe 2 M potential customers postponed purchasing decision because of Intel-based Mac, which was just on the horizon? Certainly "Apple factor" played a role. We will know soon I guess.
