For me the key date has always been 1947 and the partition. The world spoke that day and the arabs refused to listen. If you check the maps you can see how the arabs progressively lost more land by: 1. not accepting partition and losing land in the war 2. not accepting 1948 post war borders and going to war in 1967 3. Not accepting 1967 borders immediately after the war when all they would have had to do is recognize israel. 4. Not accepting the clinton borders in the ninetys and launching I2. 5. Probably not accepting the borders sharon has created with the fence/wall and continuing the fight which will probably cost them more land.
