Better is better quality, better received, better selling. India and China, at this time, qualify for none of the above. Firms mostly use India for testing, maintenance, and really mundane stuff like reports, porting, etc.

The report of my death was an exaggeration.

Silicon Valley has been declared dead I don't know how many times. First, it was gonna be Austin or NC or Boston or Seattle. Then, it was gonna be Europe. Now, it's India or China. The forks just keep on bouncing off.

The only way this beast will die is if someone destroys its lair, or builds a better one. The problem for India and China is the same as for the other pretenders in the US; there is really no place quite like SV - for the reasons I mentioned before, and more. And, it's self perpetuating, sort of like Ebay.

If you think we lost a 'huge niche' to India, I think you're mistaken - and not getting the right information. Most misinformation on SV seems to derive from schadenfreude due to the recent bubble burst.
