This is not news, the question is where did they come from and what do they do?

Last time I did this I guessed that 6000 or so are for the new plants, birdk. I do think that if they were offshore, Intel would run them through an off shore corp and not count them.

Does anyone know?

The company employed 100,000 at the end of 2005, up from 85,000 at the end of 2004, according to CEO Paul Otellini.

Sounds like the song and dance man just can't say no.
