I'm sure other people here have been to far more Rocky Mtn. towns than I have, and everyone has a different taste. Also, I was in different towns for different lengths of time at different ages. Let's see:

Hood River, OR (not in the Rockies)
Boulder
Jackson Hole
Santa Fe
Jasper, Alberta
Canmore, Alberta
Missoula (college town noone has mentioned)
Durango
Bend (not in the Rockies) had the same thing happen as Durango. It was Californicated, just older golfers from all over the country descended on it.

I haven't been to AZ and only SLC in UT. I wouldn't go to Idaho if I could avoid it. I didn't list the ski towns (Telluride, Vail, Summit County) cuz they're kinda single-purpose.

I dunno, each place has something going for it. I'd like some metropolitan atmosphere. Like someone said -- Durango is a long way from anywhere (as is Jasper).

Gotta love that JDSU. I'll take 10% overnight anytime. Beats the hell out of a condo in Las Vegas. 10% on one of those takes what, a week? LOL
