Neither AAPL nor ebay (nor any stock anymore) is trading on the results. They're trading on the fact that the companies seem to feel that current expectations are too high.

Personally, I suspect AAPL will prove to be a buying opportunity and the guidance too conservative. But I also suspect it won't be a one day drop either.
