Which 'philosophies' are 'more prevalent with terrorists'?

(And, are you SURE you are taking a big enough sample, and a long-enough look through all the terrorists displayed in history, before you decide on the 'popular philosophies'?)

The Thugees, for example, could surely be considered 'terrorists'... what was their 'philosophy'?
