Well, sort of. Seven years ago, I did a big look at both Dell and CPQ and concluded that CPQ was the better investment. Stock action wize to date, this was incorrect.

It was based on my belief that CPQ had a better presence in the market than Dell. Pfeiffer turned out to be a big disappointment, when the market slowed down and Dell proved to understand a more competitive market better than I had thought.

Couple that with an Itanium which has been a big disappointment.

But more importantly the Government attack on Microsoft which killed the momentum this country and this country's industry had in the computer business.

Without Microsoft's help CPQ was like Dell and Intel was like Lenovo.

Perhaps things will be different this time.

And on a separate note, the long two week decay in the stock of IBM is simply as a result of the company being around so long, financial information leaked like a sieve to insiders, and still does.
