Bear Stearns upgrades Brooks Automation (BRKS $14.49) to Outperform from Peer Perform saying LRCX has historically been Brooks' largest customer and the co will benefit from the significant ramp that Lam is now undergoing...

Don't we know how the GS, ML and MS upgrades/downgrades work? Do the opposite of what these three firms tell you, and you will prosper beyond belief!

Goldman Sachs downgrades Lam Research (LRCX 38.32) to Underperform from In Line as they believe the semi cycle has likely reached a point of unsustainability, with both AMD and LRCX reporting/guiding to peak margin levels and offering bullish outlooks for their businesses, typically a sign that cyclical companies have gotten a bit ahead of themselves... So for the last 12 to 18 months the guy is telling how memory will lead next leg down; he misses the upturn and as I had predicted he now plays the cycle has peaked scenario.
