J US To Sell $10 Bln 20-Yr Inflation-Indexed Notes Tuesday

WASHINGTON (Dow Jones)--The Treasury plans to raise all new cash Tuesday with the sale of $10 billion of inflation-indexed 20-year notes.

The 20-year inflation-indexed notes will be dated Jan. 15 and will settle Jan. 31. They will mature Jan. 15, 2026. The notes are commonly known as Treasury inflation-protected securities, or TIPS.

Amounts bid by the Federal Reserve banks for their own account will be in addition to the public offering amount.

Noncompetitive tenders for the 20-year notes, available in minimum denominations of $1,000, must be received by noon EST Tuesday.

Competitive tenders for the notes, available in minimum denominations of $1,000, must be received by 1 p.m. EST Tuesday.

The CUSIP number for the notes is 912810FS2.
