I don't know about restrictions in individual states, but I know all through the south there are machine gun owners clubs and meets, where they blow stuff up and drink beer. He had several machine guns that he'd made himself from automatic weapons, all illegal. The main downside of machine gun fun is paying for all that ammunition! But, he's ready to repel the Mexicans, the commies, terrorists or his own hallucinations, if and when. This same guy showed me where to find, identify and pick Peyote cactus in S. Texas.
