Canada geese on the other hand are a different story. We are about over run with them and many of them don't even leave for the winter anymore.

Best place to shoot Canada Geese is on the golf course.

<<The flyway has changed it seems.>>

I had a 1/2 interest in a duck club near Bath, Illinois. 400 acres with levees and around 200 acres of drain, plant and flood water. Right across from Grand Island where a buy in was $2 million to hunt ducks. I sold out in '95 when I spent 5 hours opening day and didn't see a duck. I did make $25k on the deal. Used to be one of the best hunting places in Illinois.

The next year I had a goose pit 15 miles North of the club. Never could look up without seeing wildfowl. Refuge upgrade and some coal work done with new lakes being formed.

Met some really interesting guys in the area. Live off the land poachers and old club owners. Used to eat breakfast with a guy who did contract killings for a Chicago bikers club and killed a guy over a 1 pound bullhead catfish.
