No, I've never been kidding when I've asked that question. Remember, we couldn't invade through Turkey, but rather from the South. Seems that even though the Generals in charge were pleased at the speed which the troops and all the support equipment came into the area, it still took several days to do it. Also seem to remember days of sand storms when nothing much moved.

So WHEN exactly were these storage places to be secured???? And who was to secure them? And how in those early days?
