I saw an interview with Kirk Douglas once where he told a story of John Wayne chiding him for having taken the role of Van Gogh because of his emotional problems. Wayne went on to tell Douglas he had a responsibility as a role model for kids that looked up to him when he accepted a movie part.

You want 'inspiration', go to an art gallery or science lecture, or listen to your kids play or something....

I wouldn't look to pols or Hollywood idols for much 'inspiration'.
