Thanx, great source. He says it really well:

"Of course the Bush administration started with the cover of "fighting child porn." Do you think that's all they've asked for?

Of course not.

Bravo, Google, for fighting this. Don't give up the fight. It's not just about this one request. This is a major, major moment. And shame on the other engines for not standing up and fighting."

And here's a funny link on his blog:

GOOG will come out on top on this one. Since the other majors have caved into the gov't's obscene request, who's left to protect our internet personal data from the FBI? The NSA probably already has it. nsa.gov

GOOGLE of course! That ubiquitous bastion of do no evil. Geeks, students, parents, teachers, office workers, commoners everywhere -- except maybe FOX NEWS, but they ain't so common -- will rally round the GOOG fight. While empowered citizens may be uncomfortable with GOOGLE & YAHOO & MICROSOFT & AOL collecting data about their email & internet habits, they damn well sure don't want the federal government to have it. It stops right there. That's a line not to be crossed! Or else!

Can't you hear the marchers chanting outside the Capitol Building? "We shall overcome!" and "Let my GOOGLE go!" led by Larry & Sergey & Senator McCain. Come on, the buses are right outside! Yea, GOOGLE's alright!

Jerry: While MSFT, AOL and YHOO comply to government request, and Google rejects, that is bullish for Google. Advertisers know that.

This is buying opportunity that has been bestowed. The selling is overblown and on top of that is the option expiration.
