All those big rich quartz veins of the Detour area are wasted on companies like Pelangio and Tradewhines

The Detour had the largest open stopes ever developed in the world. (true fact) Chinese delegations used to visit the mine to inspect the workings. It was phenomenal. You could park 10 city buses inside a stope. The engineering staff told me they had a mine plan in place to explore and mine right across the township six miles. And the ore went down to a mile. When I went in there I saw stripping by Dome of fat wide auriferous crenulated veining that was continuous in some strippings for a 1/2 mile. Not shabby stuff. Then out of the blue, Colorado, who did not want any underground mines closed it down. Pelangio got the mine plant. It was travesty. Ken Darke had ground in their for 15 years. Dome drilled the property in the course of drilling theirs and got 11 ounces per tone over 5 feet at depth.

Nearby there on the Quebec border in 1900 was found the first gold showing in Ontario by a survey crew. It seems that only do nothing companies ever get ground in there and cannot attract investor interest. The discovery ground has never been epxlored properly much less exploited.
