Cameras offer no forgiveness. BIG BROTHER in capital letters.

I just need to slow down even when I'm in a hurry.

And the cost of your ticket is outrageous. Mine is $132. I'm going to wait till the last moment before I send in my payment. And I hadn't had a ticket in over 30 years either. The older I get the more impatient. I'm not sure why.

Women scofflaw drivers... SHEESH!

Last ticket I got was in 1965. I took a new to me shortcut to work... on the same day the cops had set up a radar trap on the shortcut street. Residents had complained about all the traffic speeding in the mornings, endangering their kids. I tried to esplain I was just trying to help keep the kid population down. What's one or two less?

Sarkie and Neek~~<gg>~~ Go to the judge, and say "guilty with an explanation, Your Honor. Then give your explanation. My Judge, started to laugh, told me the fine was reduced in half, and to pay it outside the door....He was still laughing when I went out the door.... Even if getting a ticket wasn't funny to me either...Maybe it's the 30 year thing...Think it had been that long since I'd had one.

A friend of mine used to work for a District Court, and told me to do that.....As long as you are respectful, and tell whatever your circumstances were when you goofed up, they are a bit more receptive.

Good Luck!

A cop stopped me once and asked if I knew how fast I was going, and I told him no, I was drafting on the VW in front of me...He howled and let me go.

I am not a fan of those cameras.

1 - You are assumed guilty and face a criminal penalty when you are not proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt. Normally they are set up to capture your license plate. That proves it your car but not that its you.

2 - I think that they can make driving less safe as one person slams on the breaks when the light turns yellow (knowing about the camera) and the person behind doesn't stop in time causeing a rear end accident. This is esp a problem when they shorten the yellow light.
