The universe of WCDMA IPR holders is divided into net payers, and net payees. As between Qualcomm and its licensees (with the sole exception of TI, due to its DSP portfolio), all licensees of Qualcomm for all flavors of CDMA are net payers. Surely, other than sheer altruism, there must be a good reason why.And last I checked, Qualcomm is the only company being sued, not for royalties, but for alleged patent abuse and anti-competitive conduct.(Despite TI`s frequent boasts of its industry leading market share, it is a suck-up-to-Nokia plaintiff in that litigation.)
