I completely agree. That article was ridiculous and doesn't address the practical issues that companies and CBs primarily hold currencies in which commodity transactions are conducted to reduce exchange rate risks. As Don Coxe says, every multinational has Euro dollars on their books for just such purposes.

It just seems logical to me that if I have to buy oil with seashells, and I know I need xxx barrels of oil every month, wouldn't I at least stock pile a few months of seashells so I know I can buy the oil? I simply don't understand how anyone can draw the conclusion that the denomination does not matter.
