I always thought this was a stupid rule. Like a hollow point is going to cause more damage than a 25mm round or a 1,000 pound bomb.

I don't understand the logic here: If the purpose of a sniper is to kill, why not use the most effective projectile?

I can see banning wooden projectiles, plastic, rubber, and so forth. They would not be effective projectiles for the mission, so logic would dictate that they not be used. Tracers would expose the sniper, so they should not be used.

But hollowpoints? Open-tips? What logic is in play here?
