I doubt they would waste time and money attempting to enter
the consumer gadgets field, even Sony is having a difficult time there now.
I would look for them to enable connectivity of those
gadgets, to a much greater extent, including Last Mile MANs
& Wireless LANs in the home and business.

That's probably where they are going with the purchase
of a MESH network company.

It's interesting to find the pieces of the puzzle, and
try to anticipate what Cisco will come up with next.
The "experts" (see the info from the report) say
that the 3 or 4 prong approach is necessary for their
survival.

The report addresses the reassignment of some over-the-air
T.V. channel spectrum , in the 700mhz range, and how
Cisco, Qualcomm, etc would use it to their advantage:
