If Coulter said that in her book, it is unfortunate. I don't know what Dowd says except when I see her on SI, and haven't read Coulters books either. BUT it doesn't matter who says the word " assassinate " and the "fill in the blank President's name" in the same sentence. That is over the top by a lot, no matter who says it, EVEN if we have free speech in this country.

I feel sorry for people who say things like that. BUT, I still have to see the exact quote myself, because as we all know, we can't trust what we read anymore....

i.e. The NYT has set a pretty bad example for several years now for propagada. Pieces of an actual sentence are sometimes used as a quote, without the entire sentence listed, for an example.
