Jill, the original request from the DOJ came last summer. Google had been stalling them up until last week when the DOJ filed a motion to force turnover of the data.

AOL/MSFT/YHOO turned over their data last summer.

In fact, if Google shareholders are harmed by this, they would have a case against Google management for concealing the original request for over 7 months while they unloaded close to 4 billion dollars worth of insider GOOG stock.

If I were a long shareholder killed this past week, I would gladly join in a class action suit against Goog management.

Hmm, he emailed me back very quickly. He says the motion was filed by DOJ on January 18th.
