I agree with the conclusion and the analysis as presented.
However I think it is a total fabrication.

Unless the FED is a bunch of idiots (certainly possible) I suspect a smokescreen. I think the FED want to rein in speculative lending, speculation in the stock market, and most important the bubble in junk bonds.

I think that they think that if they say there is a bubble in the stock market all freaking hell will break loose. Thus they talk about other BS and just keep hiking until the junk bond market and credit lenders get the message.

I do not accept the arguments they are making, then again, there is indeed the possibility they are just plain stupid as oppsed to putting up a smoke screen to cover their intentions.

That is how I see it.
