btw, this is a growing and a very important part of Canada's economy...I think I also read that at the current rate of extraction Canada has over a 200 year supply of oil from the oil sands source.

I'll say this about oil sands. I sell power plants, and the last thing they want is to have to go after those outragious cost-oriented oil reserves.
The very worst source. Coal is way better.
Yack all you want about oil sands. They are just the bottom of the barrel. :•)
