If Republicans ever want to get serious about lobby reform, they should go back to the "Contract with America" and pass TERM LIMITS. Without term limits, everything is just smoke and mirrors. I totally agree with this. Failure to pass this was one of my great disappointments with the Gingrich takeover in the House. More and more it seems that there are really few major policy/ethics differences between the parties. And even when useful legislation gets past the House, the Senate and the filibuster threat usually hangs everything up anyway.
