I used to read Coulter. I found her sharp and funny, or perhaps clever is a better word than funny. But as I got to know her body of work better I also found her vicious, vile, and utterly irresponsible. I quite reading her because the vile overcame the funny, as I think it must do sooner or later for any decent human being, but I think it's possible to be concurrently both funny and vile.

I never followed Dowd so I have no opinion on her or her work.
