I am surpised by the hassling, too. In the old west, somebody like Mike Matusow or Phil Helmuth or Tony G would simply be run out of town on a rail or shot. I loved the one tournament where laid back Hoyt Corkins from Alabama was one of the final 3. The other two were Matasow and Helmuth. Corkins wore a Walkman the entire time. <G> The two best "discussions" were one where both of the slimeballs claimed the other guy was nasty while they were just joking around. As the anouncer said, "they are as different as night and evening."

The second good one was a series where Matasow accused Phil of not having the guts to call a big bet. He harassed him so hard that Phil finally called when he shouldn't and Mike da Mouth won the event.

The sad thing is, these guys get a lot of tv time for their mouths, as well as their ability, which is outstanding in both cases. That means a lot of young, impressionable players are going to start acting like jackasses so they get some air time. Just what we need. <g>

An Honorable Mention goes to Phil for a hand Corkins won and Mike the Mouth asked, "at which school did you learn to play poker, Phil?" "At the nine times world champion school." That shut up Matasow for the only time that day.

The White House is lying about Abramoff meetings. No big surprise. Bush didn't know who Chalabi was, either, though he invaded a country and killed 100,000 or so people on Chalabi's word of honor. <G> thinkprogress.org
