He is a guy in an ill fitting suit who walks to work and reads in the bathtub -- lower your expectations, but remember we are all just people with limited abilities. I think he believes that regular people doing regular things do ok in the long run. The difficulty is that life so astonishingly complex when viewed as a whole, and complex systems have a bad habit of breaking down. I think that is part of his "worries". People who individually are capable can be practically idiots when taken together (look at our political situation and you get the idea) and I think he realizes that we are political 2 year olds in a world that needs to be a bit more "adult". Greenspan is just another guy with a "cool job".
