DJ Italy's BNL Says Reaches Iraq Debt Restructuring Accord-2

.

Rome-based BNL said it will receive newly-issued Iraqi government bonds for a nominal value of about $683 million. The new Iraqi bonds are issued in accordance with U.S. law, are negotiable, but won't be listed.

After decades of sanctions, the bond issue will be a first step for Iraq to return to the international financial markets. The 20-year bonds will carry a 5.8% coupon per year, the Italian bank said in a statement.

The new Iraqi bond issue is backed by the world's second-largest oil reserves.
