I believe you err in your belief that we (US) need to get out of Iraq;

I dont think we are ever leaving, just like we never left, Germany, Cuba, Japan, Philipines, etc.

Vietnam style exit might have been necessary but it was anything but honorable. You are probably too young to remember. But even this anti-warrior was appalled at what happened to south vietnamese left behind not to mention our soldiers who returned to jeers not cheers. If we dont want to go down that road, lets tell the iraqis what our plans are with a timetable to turn over in counrty stuff to them while perhpas we commit 30,000 troops and our airpower to protect the borders and use that air power for strikes against terrorists when necessary. If we remove our troops from combat at some point, it may actaully give iraqis incentive to fight for their country. As Hawk points out so eloquently--this war is far from lost. Mike
