I didnt say you cant negotiate with arabs, I did say that you can't EVER expect them to live up to their agreements, unless you can name ONE that they have (in relation to Israel)?

We won't leave Iraq, because that is not how the US military operates; they always stay.

My world is not dark at all, in fact, as soon as the market closes, I anticipate a quick 20 minute nap on the hammock (between two 20ft coconut palms) with the sun filtered by the frons.

I don't know where your doctrine of ""If we cant have optimisim even if just for the long term, we become consumed with hatred.""

That just doesnt make any sense.

You'll love this film -- it is a great insight into the sheep hearder methods of islamist leaders.

Can never negotiates with arabs.

Of course, one can negotiate with arabs. But keep your powder dry and your guard up and always remember that Islam believes it is OK to lie and cheat to infidels.

Sadat negotiated. And was killed for it.

If you negotiate with arabs who are bound and determined to kill off your people, who think the Holocaust never happened, who are infected with the idea that it is religiously sanctioned to act dishonorably in dealing with Jews and Christians, then you had better be speaking softly and carrying a huge stick to make them stick to their deals.

I frankly think it's impossible. We don't have the gumption or the patience or the stake necessary to engage in proper negotiations, but the Israelis do.

I think this says it all [from MEMRI]:

“The Arab world is the last bastion of unbridled, unashamed, unhidden and unbelievable anti-Semitism. Hitlerian myths get published in the popular press as incontrovertible truths. The Holocaust either gets minimized or denied....How the Arab world will ever come to terms with Israel when Israelis are portrayed as the devil incarnate is hard to figure out.”

I think we are headed for a disaster because someday, somehow the wackos are going to get their hands on nuclear weapons and use them.

Iran's leaders are clinically insane and IMO capable of a nation-wide martyrdom operation by dropping a nuke on Tel Aviv, then fantasyzing that the entire nation, or certainly a huge part of it, will be going to Heaven after Israel retaliates in kind.

The bottom line is that it is crazy to trust a group that seems infected with collective paranoid schizophrenia.
