I have no faith in our leaders. They will regulate intrusively in all areas, and not just in the ones which make sense. I don't see the point in my being against regulation that makes sense to me in my schema (since I consider smoking an assault on my body, with a chemical that actually enters my lungs, as opposed to breast feeding, which doesn't touch me physically unless the mother actually squirts it on me- and for the record I'm against that) just because I don't like other regulations. It's not as if the government is going to entirely stop regulating if I merely say I'm against all regulation (and I'm not sure I'd want to throw the baby out with the bath anyway- even if it is a small baby), for that justifies their existence, and they aren't going to unjustify themselves- no one does that. So I pick the regulations which make sense to me, and I champion those. It has nothing to do with faith- it's merely practical support for things I believe are actually sensible (and the regulation would be a lot more sensible if it were coupled with a lack of subsidies for tobacco- which is just big time stupid).
