None of your links work.

The dollar index reached it's ATH of 130 or so in 1985 and then reached it's recent high of 120 back in 2001.

Now it is hanging out at the level where it was throughout the early 90s.

EDIT Since 1970, the dollar has lost 72% of its value against the Yen, 73% against the SFr and 62% against the Euro/German Mark. Not exactly a rising trend.

My dad was in germany when it was four marks to the dollar - I remember how good we lived there - poor military boy with big family couldn't live that good today in germany i bet. My dad went back for 3 more tours in germany - la vida loca baby - hehe.
