The BBC is announcing a Conservative victory in Canada. They sound really depressed about it, blaming the "financial scandal which has dogged the Liberals" for the loss.

Its been shown so many times that raising taxes does not raise revenue that you would think it would eventually settle in even to the most dense mind, but for some reason Liberals seem to have a particularly thick head. The KEY is to raise ECONOMIC ACTIVITY and the way to do that is just like your automobile, LUBRICATE THE ENGINE. This is done by smoothing out reglatory issues and LOWERING taxes to the fairest amount possible. The KEY to solving Buddies oil problem is to RAISE economic activity to such a level that people can AFFORD higher technology such as a combination of hybrid autos/biodiesel engines, and other alternative fueled vehicles. jdn
