But your underlying point that the US is losing power and influence in both hemispheres is absolutely correct. And frankly it doesn't matter who acquires the oil assets; oil is and will remain a commodity that goes to the highest bidder... unless the country is net exporter of oil. The net exporters of oil are the future winners of power and influence; the net importers of oil are the losers. The more you import the more you lose. John
