This is actually one of the reasons that bubble defenders use, to justify that there is no bubble in the US. Bob Toll thinks the same will happen here, meaning 50% housing expense. I think it is unlikely, because in that case there would be huge migration from the coasts to the Midwest on a much bigger scale than is going on now.

Real estate bubble is a disease that is being spread by those that are trying to escape it.
