I'm sure the Chinese would be happy to buy and refine all of the oil that Venezuela and Chevron can produce for them. Why do they need the U.S. involved? They just need to ship crude to a customer, like China, and that customer must refine it properly for end use. As long as Chevron gets paid for their crude it's all good in the end.

Perhaps China is even ahead of us on crude refinining methods. There's no way we can claim the lead in automotive technology, with Toyota becoming the king of hybrids and their sales soaring. Perhaps the same applies to refining. Perhaps the Chinese can take Venezuela dark crude and turn into into refined petroleum products efficiently and inexpensively.

The main reason Chavez couldn't tell us to take a hike before is becaue he needed us as a customer. I just wonder how much longer that will be the case?
