Bravo!

That is probably the most important post I have ever seen on this thread - and no one responded, LOL.

Mindless, emotional partisanship is now the staple of American political debate. Everyone lets their own hero off the hook, and no one wants to admit to their own blind prejudices.

And the political gurus play them like a fiddle.

It is possible to override these biases, Dr. Westen said, "but you have to engage in ruthless self reflection, to say, 'All right, I know what I want to believe, but I have to be honest.' "

He added, "It speaks to the character of the discourse that this quality is rarely talked about in politics.""

How does this fit regarding the media claim that the right wingers fought the nomination of Harriet Meiers and expressed considerable dissatisfaction with the President?

This guy's premise is all wrong. He thinks everyone is pathological.

I think most people start out searching for the truth and that truth and honesty is in the individuals best self interest for suvival and other reasons.

It is just surprising that so many people get side tracked and become delusional.
