Cindy Sheehan slams U.S., channels Squawk

Now it’s beyond absurd. Cindy Sheehan is what psychologists refer to as "off her freakin’ rocker." In a diatribe posted to — where else? — Michael Moore’s website, the nutjob slams a whole host of American institutions.
First, Cindy regales us with a primer on American military history:

I believe the notion of patriotism has been expediently and nefariously exploited, and used to lead our nation into scores of disastrous and needless wars.

Scores. By my math, that’s at least 40 unnecessary wars — at least one every six years. She then turns her brilliance to the Pledge of Allegiance:

The neocons exploited patriotism to fulfill their goals of imperialism and plunder.

This sort of patriotism begins when we enter kindergarten and learn the nationalist "Pledge of Allegiance."

Next, she treats us to a music review:

It transcends all sense when we are taught the "Star Spangled Banner," a hymn to war.

But finally — and this is the best part, folks — Sheehan gives a shoutout to our own Squawkbox:

War will end forever when we matriots stand up and say: "No, I am not giving my child to the fake patriotism of the war machine which chews up my flesh and blood to spit out obscene profits."
