The civility is great.

If there is a start to anything, it's probably civility. I'm not sure we can get from civility to "there"- the land where we don't demonize the "other" whoever he or she may be. But it's a start.

That's why I never argue with ideologues

There's a difference between an ideologue and a partisan. Ideology is at least grounded in ideas, which is a mental construct. You can argue ideology. Visceral partisanship is unreachable.
