thats different that is an emergency.
I'm talking about plastic surgery and elective procedures. The problem is that US hospitals rely on elective surgery to subsidize other stuff. I don't think they can lose this revenue stream, or remain unscathed from any pricing erosion.

The internet has caused deflation in a lot of goods services, and salaries. It is just naive to think that the US medical industry is immune, thats what I think. Employers in San Diego are already buying healthplans that push workers to Mexico for general care. If the US medical industry had pricing that was 30% over the ROW then we could have a debate. But thats not what we have, we have a system that is 5-10 times as expensive as other countries. I don't think it will hold. jmo
