In Nigeria the upper class gorges in oil revenue while the lower class has only one possibility: revolt and disturb them.

The tiny middle class can only hope to get a government job.

It is not different than when they were a colony:

The colonial master ruled and profited from the resources fueling the Industrial Revolution.

The tiny middle class assisted them as papers shufflers and clerical workers.

The mass work their but off to survive.
