It was in the Ginsburg hearing that Biden said " a nominee should decline to answer questions about how she would decide a specific case". Ginsburg took it a step further by declining to answer questions about her views on many historical Supreme Court cases. The Senate recognized her caution as valid and appropriate and supported her with a 96-3 vote.

If my memory is correct she was not challenged on her extensive liberal leanings, nor her significant role with the ACLU.

How times have changed. LOL

My point was, and is, there wasn't a very public lack of civility when parties changed sides.

It may have been the point you hand in mind but it wasn't the point you made. I can only respond to the points you make.

The Repubs were much more "gentlemanly and courteous" about their disagreements with the Dems in public.
