First of all the current socialist cabinet depending on support from the communists to hang on to power, will be gone in the elections of this spring.

Next a majority of the Swedes are now in favor of keeping the nuclear power plants on line for an extended period of years.

You may not know this, but Finland is actually right now constructing a brand new nuclear plant.

You may reduce carbon dioxide emission and dependence on oil and you may close the nuclear power plants.
But just no way you can do all of that at the same time without the invention of a major new source of energy.

Spring elections and the guys on the way out promise anything in their futile try to hang on to power.

Yay for Sweden! Iceland is doing much the same thing. The US of course is doing nothing because we have two oilmen in the White House. Down with the oilmen, I say and up with a Green Party. Is there such a thing as a Conservative Green Party? A group of people that are conservative on most issues, but smart about energy, taxes and health care? Notice I used smart instead of liberal, because I'm not liberal on those issues, but I do think the current administration's position on those issues is out of whack. I'd vote for a Conservative Green Party candidate.
