J General Electric Targets $10B In China Revenue By 2010>GE

MADRID (Dow Jones)--U.S. conglomerate General Electric Co. (GE) is targeting $10 billion in annual revenue from its Chinese operations by 2010, Chairman Jeffrey Immelt said Thursday.

Speaking at a business event in Spain, Immelt said GE last year posted $5 billion of revenue in China, one of the countries where it expects to achieve faster top-line growth.

Immelt added GE plans to focus efforts on increasing its exposure to the country's fast-growing economy.

"You have to become part of the fabric of the country to be successful in China," he said.
