DJ IBM Acquires CIMS Lab, In Mktg Pact With Parametric Tech

ARMONK, N.Y. (Dow Jones)--International Business Machines Corp. (IBM) acquired privately held CIMS Lab Inc. for an undisclosed price.

IBM will incorporate CIMS Lab's technology, which tracks the use of computing resources, into its software, hardware and services.

In a press release Wednesday, IBM said the acquisition of CIMS Lab improves its software portfolio of virtualized technology, which allows users, especially large organizations, to manage their information technology resources and adjust them as needed.

California-based CIMS Lab has been an IBM Business Partner since 2003.

In a separate release, IBM said it started a cooperative marketing agreement on Jan. 1 with Parametric Technology Corp. (PMTC) focusing on China in an effort to expand its sales reach.

In premarket trading on Inet, IBM shares were at $80.86, up a penny from Tuesday's closing price.

This seems about right. Higher than I might have thought.
Wonder what % oil is of world trade.

Still I think the point is valid
it is a small % of trade even if larger than the 5% I suggested.

Of course if oil spikes to $400 barrel that % will skyrocket. ggg
