There is going to be a huge move to 3G later this year, or early next year at the latest (just like bluetooth ala BRCM)...

QCOM royalties will explode once it happens...

If you believe they'll be able to get this "Video on phones/pdas/Ipod/etc.etc" off the ground then you'll also realize that the amount of broadband required to do this is huge...

Cingular and Verizon are launching "highspeed wireless" networks and once the roll out is complete then TV on a cell phone is just a click away...

Cingular expanding this network throughout 2006...

BroadbandConnect Network

Cingular's BroadbandConnect network provides broadband speeds in select metropolitan areas
BroadbandConnect is built on the global standard for 3G wireless with more than 140 carriers implementing across the globe
Supported by Cingular Communication Manager
Cingular will deploy BroadbandConnect in 15 to 20 markets in 2005, and will expand availability in most major markets by the end of 2006
BroadbandConnect is the only 3G technology supporting simultaneous voice and data
BroadbandConnect provides average download throughput of 400-700 kbps on compatible devices*

The 3g QCOM technology works on WCDMA as well as GSM...

They'll have the best of both Worlds...

Of course the downside to all of this is the delay in rolling out the technology because video over the current systems is still very caveman like (it's awful, I have TV on my laptop via a WAN and even though I use the Edge network, it still doesn't have the broadband that a LAN offers...

This means you need to connect to a "Hot spot" to enjoy the technology...

"Hot spots" are fine if you're sitting still, but the WAN mobility is where it's at...

Laptop on the passenger seat at all times...

Good trading...

Guess you've noticed the debris in the AMGN chart today.....?? Undercut the Oct lows, broke below the 200d, and filled the July gap..all on heavy volume.....
